Frequently asked questions
Is the label FDA-compliant?
The label follows the FDA Nutrition Facts format (21 CFR 101.9): the required layout, type sizes, and rounding rules are built in. You stay responsible for the accuracy of your ingredient amounts and for your product's specific requirements — we always show which database record was used for every ingredient so you can verify.
Where do the nutrition numbers come from?
From the USDA FoodData Central database (the US government's public nutrition database) applied to your exact amounts. Every ingredient row shows which USDA record was matched, and you can swap it in one click.
Do I need a lab analysis?
Usually not. FDA accepts nutrition labeling based on database calculations for most products. Lab analysis matters mainly for fried or highly processed products where cooking changes composition. Our guide on lab analysis covers when it's worth it.
What's really free?
Calculating your own recipe, the live label preview with all rounded values and %DV, and a watermarked low-resolution export — no account needed. Paid plans add print-ready files (300dpi PNG and PDF without watermark), saved recipes, and unlimited products.
How do allergens work?
The big-9 allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, sesame) are detected automatically from your ingredients, and you can adjust the final “Contains:” statement — for example to add cross-contact allergens from your kitchen.
I sell from a home kitchen — do you support cottage food rules?
Yes. We keep verified label requirements for 10 states (CA, TX, FL, NY, OH, PA, MI, NC, GA, WA) and add your state's exact required statement to the label with the right wording and font size.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — one click in your account, no emails or phone calls. You keep access until the end of the paid period, and there are no contracts.
